Description
The Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 (paratrooper rifle 42, FG 42) was a selective-fire rifle. It could be fired single-shot from a closed bolt or fully-automatic from an open bolt. The FG 42 could fire all types of ammunition fired by the K 98 k rifle. Two magazines were avalable: The Magazin M 10 - 42 holding 10 rounds and the Magazin M 20 - 42 holding 20 rounds.1FG 42 Fallschimjägergewehr 42.
For close combat, the FG 42 could be equipped with a bayonet. For sharpshooters the rifle could be equipped with the ZFG 42 scope. The rifle could fire rifle grenades by replacing the muzzle brake with the Schießbechers FG 42 rifle grenade cup and mounting the Granatvisiers FG 42 aiming device.2FG 42 Fallschimjägergewehr 42.
