Introduction

Although the Luftwaffe had many field divisions including Flak units, it was the Hermann Göring Panzer Regiment, and later Division, that is most recognized as the premiere tank unit of the Luftwaffe. In late 1938 with the establishment of the Panzer-Späh-Zug (armored car unit), the Regiment "General Göring" personnel of this company adopted the Army styled black panzer uniform with differences in insignia.
